Karelian pie workshop

Master Karelian pie maker Ritva Ryttyläinen teaches the traditional Karelian way of baking Karelian pies by hand. Participants will learn about the Karelian food tradition alongside the baking. Flour from a local mill will be used and the group can choose rice or barley porridge for the pie filling. After the baking demonstration, guests can eat a soup lunch and enjoy pies they have made themselves. The guided tour will take place in Männikkölän Pirt’s log cabin on the shores of Pielinen.
