The campfire sites are suitable for picnics and resting places after or during a nature hike. For many hikers, especially the youngest in the party, picnics are the highlight of the trip. Many of us remember the campfire sausage or the picnic sandwiches with straw juice.

Kodas

A jogging trail starts from the courtyard of the Hyvärilä Youth and Tourist Centre, which in winter turns into a cross-country skiing trail. The trail is 6.5 km long and ends at Ellun Kota. Ellun Kota can also be reached by a shorter route along Paaveltie.

Jurttivaara Kota is at the top of the dike after a steep climb. In winter you can get to the Kota on snowshoes, in summer on paths or a forest road.

Catering is available at the Laitalan Lomat and the Hyvärilä Riihikota.

Shelters

At the foot of the best sledding hill in the area, Kotilanvaara, there is a shelter where you can rest after a day of skiing. A fatbike trail also runs alongside the ski centre’s slope in winter. The trail is illuminated, so you don’t have to worry about quickly darkening days.

Campfire places

Lokkiharju has a good ski trail in winter, along which there is also a campfire site. In summer, there is a frisbee golf course and a jogging trail.
